College and Universities

Randolph County, North Carolina is home to Randolph Community College. The College has an alliance that fosters educational excellence in the local workforce, creating a technically advanced set of potential employees.   Signature programs are Photography & Graphic Design, Health occupations, Automotive, and Machining.  2013 enrollment is 3,653 curriculum and 8,144 continuing education.

Randolph County Schools have over 19,000 students enrolled in 17 elementary, 7 middle schools and 6 high schools. Asheboro City Schools have over 4,500 students enrolled in 5 elementary, 2 middle schools and 1 high school. There are 57 Private schools located within a 30-mile radius.

Randolph County has two new high schools. Providence Grove High School opened in 2008 and Wheatmore in 2009 to serve growing population.  High school students have two innovative choices including Early College High School located at Randolph Community College to earn a high school diploma and obtain a two-year degree.  Asheboro High School offers one of the only Zoo Schools in the nation with a campus located at the NC Zoological Park with all core classwork on the 1500 acre zoo site.

 Uwharrie Charter Schools has a  newly constructed high school, grades 9-12 and for the school year 2015-2016, has added a middle school grades 6-8.
