Helps communities by stimulating the growth and expansion of small businesses, within a defined area of operation, through long-term, fixed-asset financing. Through this joint federal government/private sector program, financing for the acquisition of land and building construction, expansion, renovation and equipment is available to small businesses for up to 20 years. Typically a financial institution provides 50 percent of financing; CDC/SBA, 40 percent; the small business, 10 percent.
The benefits offered the applicant are:
- 10- and 20-year terms, fixed interest rates, below-market rates
- Minimum equity injection of 10 percent
- Predetermined prepayment
